What these pages store.
Effective October 16, 2026. This page covers the tools directory and the other pages that use this footer. Cookies are small files a site can store on your device. Local storage is a related place in the browser. We name both.
The short version
The directory does not set analytics cookies or advertising cookies. It does not load Google Analytics. The only setting we save on these pages is your color-vision choice, in local storage, on this device.
What we store on these pages
- Color vision. If you turn the control on or off, the choice is saved in local storage as
jaan-cv. It is there so the palette does not flash on the next visit. It is not sent to a server. - Quick exit. Leaving with Quick exit clears session storage for this site in the browser. We do not use session storage to identify you.
We have not added a cookie script, a consent banner, or Vercel Analytics to these pages. Fonts are files we host ourselves.
What we do not use here
- Google Analytics, or another analytics cookie
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media pixels
- Cloudflare Turnstile
The newsletter form sends the email address you type to Brevo. That request is not a cookie we set. Brevo’s own policy covers how they hold the address. See the privacy policy.
The app pages
/app and /app/blog are different pages. They load Google Analytics, measurement ID G-7SWQ9W25PK, which uses cookies. The waitlist form on /app can load Cloudflare Turnstile when you use the form, and Turnstile may set a cookie to tell a person from a bot. The waitlist also stores a timestamp in local storage asjaan_waitlist_ts. None of that runs on the tools directory pages.
How to clear what is stored
You can remove cookies and site data in the browser:
- Safari on iPhone: Settings, Safari, Clear History and Website Data
- Safari on Mac: Safari menu, Settings, Privacy
- Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and Site Data
Clearing site data removes the color-vision choice. The directory still loads without it.
Changes
If we start setting a cookie on these pages, this page and the date at the top will say so before that cookie is doing quiet work in the background.
