Safety

Leave this site in one step.

Quick exit is on every page. This page explains what it does, how to browse privately, and where to call in the US. It does not load analytics.

Quick exit

Quick exit sits in the header, beside Color vision, with a gap between them. On a phone the same two controls stay in that header, and Home, Tools, Guides, and Journal sit in a bar at the bottom of the screen. Quick exit is a real link, so it still works if other scripts on the page fail. You can also press the Escape key three times within two seconds.

When it runs, three things happen immediately:

  1. This tab goes to a Google search for the weather, using replace so the Back button does not return here.
  2. A second tab opens to that same weather search.
  3. Session storage for this site is cleared. Saved color-vision preference stays, because that lives in local storage.

Quick exit does not close your other tabs, delete downloads, or erase pages you already visited earlier in this session. For that, use a private window and clear history.

Browse privately

A private window keeps this visit out of the history on that device after you close the window. It does not hide your visit from your internet provider, your employer, or someone who can see your screen.

To clear history that is already stored:
